Careers Advisor – Mr B Lee – email@example.com
Careers interviews take place during year 12 and year 13 to ensure that students are aware of future pathways and their next steps for getting to where they want to be.
We believe that it is vital for students to have the most up to date information, advice and guidance relating to their next step to ensure they are able to focus and achieve their future aspirations.
EPCHS host careers fairs during the year and sixth form students have the opportunity speak to local employers, apprenticeship providers, local colleges, public services and volunteering groups. The careers fairs are big events where students are able to explore options available to them that they may not have considered before.
Our comprehensive PHSCE programme supports the student as a whole and a large part of the programme is dedicated to providing our sixth form students information from several outside agencies across further education, employment, apprenticeships, volunteering, gap year experiences and public services.
As a sixth form we also visit the ‘What Career Live’ and the ‘What University Live’ events that are held in Liverpool each year. Students who attend this event have always found the information and variety of speakers and stands ‘excellent’ and would ‘highly recommend’ it to others.
We also attend the Oxbridge conference at Aintree each year. Students are able to gain an insight into life at Oxbridge, attending a range of talks on a variety of aspects including; applications, interviews, exam process and life at university.
Students also have the opportunity to be involved with the annual Chester University residential visit or if they prefer we also visit the university for a day where we have a full tour, explore the resources on-site and have a session on university language and the application process. The sixth form careers programme is continuously reviewed and monitored to ensure it meets the full requirements for our students and schools. This is completed through student voice and employer feedback.
